Who Are Peer Educators?

Peer Education Mission Statement

A volunteer student organization striving to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles to Illinois State University and the local community through a variety of programs and services.

Peer Educators are a diverse group of Illinois State University student volunteers from all majors with diverse backgrounds. They are trained by Health Promotion staff to promote and talk to fellow students about a variety of health issues. They help staff the "G Spot", a portable gazebo that is set up around campus and provides health information and resources.  Peers attend a weekend training retreat and weekly training sessions during the fall and/or spring to learn the latest information and research on health issues.

If you are interested in becoming a Peer Educator, see How To Become A Peer Educator, or attend one of our training meetings.

Meetings are held every Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the Student Services Bldg. Room 375.  Peer Education is open to all interested students.

For more info, contact at 438-2053.
