Preventive Medicine

The Preventive Medicine Clinic provides appointments for routine immunizations, allergy injections, TB testing, and international travel consultations/ vaccinations.

Routine immunizations:

Incoming students must meet the State of Illinois Immunization Requirements.

Most routine immunizations are available at SHS, including MMR, Tetanus/Diphtheria, Chicken Pox, HPV, Meningitis, Hepatitis A, and Hepatitis B. Other vaccines may be available by request.

Influenza vaccine clinics are usually held each fall. TB testing clinics are held each fall and spring semester.

Allergy Injections:

You will be required to provide your serum from your allergist, the injection schedule, and a statement from your allergist that you have previously received the serum injection.

TB Testing:

TB testing is not required for attendance at ISU, except for international students. Testing is available at minimal cost for those students who need documentation of TB status for job or academic-related activities.

International Travel:

A nurse will assist you in determining your immunization needs for upcoming international travel. A charge may be incurred for immunizations. Current costs can be discussed when you call for your appointment.
